thank you for being someone who talks about this with some sense. I HATE people that say "white rice makes you fat" or "it's so bad for you" "empty calories" etc. So much of Asia lives on white rice! _
In the US you can easily buy the different stages of polished rice or now you can find something called Haiga mai rice which is rice rice with the germ intact. Nishiki makes a good haiga mai rice. (green bag) It tastes kinda like white rice buts its more chewy and darker colored.  I eat them maybe 25% of the time but I still prefer short grain white rice.

I love your videos very much! I know you made a video about heartburn not so long ago but I wonder if I am the only one who suffers from heartburn after eating rice, particularly (western) white rice? My heartburn is less severe after eating brown rice but it still happens, even when I eat the rice alone. I feel sad because I love rice and I try to stop eating it because of that, but it's difficult because I have to avoid gluten. (Sorry for my English, my native language is French.)

Great video 🙂 You are absolutely right, white rice is not all the same. I've been in a rice farm once and they shown me how many way there are to make white rice; they are not all the same. Thanks for sharing!

Excellent video! Here in Mexico, rice is a staple, but it's not prepared in a healthy way. First, the rice is fried in oil and then it's boiled with chicken stock and tomato purée or water and chicken bouillon. 🙁

Soak (with or without lemon juice) brown rice 24H before cooking, then add some water and cook till the water is done. I will be delicious and digests well. Tried and tested many times

Coming from an Asian family, white rice is a staple for dinner, usually. We have basmati rice now, as it has a lower GI. Since becoming vegan, it's still a staple for me. It definitely can be a part of a very healthy diet.

in Eastern cultures, Asia, India, etc. their digestive systems have adjusted to centuries of eating rice, so it doesnt affect them as negatively as others..
rice used to be a necessary cultivated food to avoid starvation, now, we have access to healthier options
the starch and carb content, that your body recognizes as white sugar, no no
i find small amounts of Basmati rice are ok, but brown & white rice both too starchy, im over it

okay….so I am asking for your help on something that has come up that topic could hit home for you and I'm sure many. What do you think about ARSENIC in rice? Apparently brown rice has the most and apprently rice milk NOT IDEAL FOR BABIES?
apparnetly higher arsenic in chicken vs rice?
Followup video perhaps on "healthiest" whole food "grains" such as quinoa or buckwheat? SO much info overload these days….but is concerning to family

    this is what I found:
"Rice products, which include rice milk, may contain high levels of inorganic arsenic, due to farming methods that include growing rice on fields previously contaminated with arsenic, Consumer Reports states. Rice milk contains much higher levels of arsenic than cow's milk. The United Kingdom's Food Standards Agency recommends not giving rice milk to children under the age of 4 1/2, due to the higher arsenic levels."
