Hi Dr. G, great videos and advise. Please would you make a video with some hints and tips about how to conveniently and economically source some of these foods you mention. How do we find eggs from healthy chickens and meat from genuine grass fed organic cows? With all the misleading advertising its impossible to believe anything we read on labels. Please would you remember that youtube is global, so general tips would be great. Thank you… love the channel!

At 1:36ish, designed to support ? what kind of health?
At 2:07is — did you say fish eyes???
At 3:14 — How could raw hamburger be healthy?
Most of these things are my dad's own health rules that he follows. He's 82 and doing very well.

@bunntbright Juicing Veggies Rocks! I do that along with everything else the doctor says, it's a HUGE part of the health equation! Google recipe "Mean Green" from the movie "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" I would avoid juicing too many fruits however…fructose has been proven to be hard on the liver. Especially when one is deficient in Choline. (Bunch of Kale (or spinach) Cucumber, Celery, Lemon, Ginger and Apple is REFRESHINGLY delicious!) Makes you wanna run a marathon. 🙂

@tbayguy NOT necessarily true. I know several people personally who had the opposite result. I was vegetarian for 10 years, and it was the unhealthiest I've EVER been (low energy, bad skin, unpredictable emotionally). Now that I eat (50% raw) organic WHOLE foods that INCLUDE a substantial amt of RED (high fat) MEAT (2/3x per week) I feel the most healthy, vibrant, grounded and consistently happy I've ever felt in my life. Every vegetarian I know (6) has bouts of depression. Refined Carbs Kill.

@tbayguy Check out what is said by watchdog group: cornucopia . ORG on their FAQ page listed on orange near the left… regarding Martek Company's (patented!) DHA "algae" oil. Scroll 5 questions down…Might surprise and perhaps even anger you. Not so surprising was that Martek used to be owned by Monsanto. (shakes head)

@tbayguy Ha! True that on the targeting Monsanto front 🙂 If only they were really targeting us. Seems we are our own worst target. But ah, that's another story.. 😉

I like to juice diet weeks on end myself. Animals are mostly sick, toxic and dying creatures(Do not,I repeat, do not verify this on your own, you'll regret it!)but you could look at Meat The Truth, it's not for the faint at heart. Besides, these animals won't make it for much longer. You should look at the joys of vegetable stir-fries, nuts, fruits, rices, legumes and all your green vegetables. I desert the desserts, unless you are talking about dried fruits such as apricots, figs and the likes.

@dettman77 Grains are hard to digest and contain a lot of starch. They should be fermented as in traditional sourdough or soaked or sprouted to make them easier to digest. People that are overweight or have insulin resistance (type 2 diabetes) need to watch the amount. In my opinion, the regular bread you buy in the store is bad.

@ShushLorraine Milk is the only food in nature solely designed to support mammalian health. Fish eyes are a super source of vitamin A. I grew up eating all the eyes from the fish I caught. Raw hamburger is tasty and healthy because it's easy to digest. That's because it's chewed for for you, has living enzymes and the heat sensitive nutrients remain. I freeze it for 14 days to kill parasites. Avoid meat from factory farms as it more likely contains pathogenic bacteria.

@ShushLorraine Raw hamburger fat is healthy if the animal is eating grass. It has a higher omega 3 content and has healthy saturated fats that are not altered or damaged by cooking. The omega 3 content of beef fat goes down dramatically when the animal is placed in a confinement feeding operation like most of the beef in the local grocery store.

Even when I soak rolled oats, I still find that my heart rate goes up and I have a lethargic mood for a couple of hours afterwards. Do you roll your own oats? I've heard that you should for optimum nutrition and maybe this is a cause of it.

Another excellent source of vitamin A & E (both tocopherols and tocotrienol in their alpha, beta, gamma, delta forms) is organic virgin red palm oil. The naturally high content of the carotenes give it a orange-red color. It has a high smoke point of over 400 degrees, and retains its nutrition even after cooking with it! I would put it up there with virgin coconut oil as a beneficial saturated fat.

Thanks for pointing out the benefits of red palm oil. It's hard otherwise to get a good amount of the remarkable tocotrienols in our diet, unless we take supplements. There is no vitamin A in the oil however, but most people can convert the carotenes into vitamin A.

You are right, there technically is no Vitamin A in red palm oil, but rather carotinoids with a concentration of 500-700 parts per million, of which 90% are the alpha and beta isomers. A serving (one tablespoon) of Red palm oil has 300 times the carotene content of a tomato and 15 times more than a carrot. Finally, it is a good thing that vitamin A does not exist in the oil because of the risk of toxicity. Carotenes have no such risk. Eat up!
